Joy!

Do you make time to do the things that bring you joy?  Do you know what brings you joy? We often spend so much time doing what we have to do, or doing things for other people that we can find ourselves feeling weighed down and not sure why.

Feeling weighed down does not set you up for feeling creative.  Taking time each week to do something that brings you joy, just because it brings you joy can lighten your load.  It helps you to get in touch with you on a great level.  Helping others is great! It can even bring us joy. Taking care of yourself is also great, and can bring you joy, too!  Try it!

Make a list of 15 things you find joy in doing.  I recommend you build that list to at least 30 things, over time, but you can start with 15. A “Joy List” can remind you of the things that bring you joy so you can do the more often. Try to have some that cost money and some that don’t.  I’ll share some of the items off my list…

  • Going to the beach
  • cuddling with my daughters
  • Fresh flowers
  • Pedicures
  • Walking in the woods
  • Laying in the snow after a big storm, listening to how silent the world has become.
